The Details
Self-Taught
At the age of four Samantha first learned how to draw horses from her mother. From there it was a creative whirlwind of ideas that have lead her down the path of becoming a self-taught artist, teaching herself how to draw in several different styles with several different inspirations.
Schooling
Since a young age Samantha’s parents fostered her growth as an artist, enrolling her in art courses both in school and outside of school. She have worked with a varying degree of teachers with different teaching methods and will continue to (and looks forward to) learning much, much more!
Business Administration
Originally a Fine Arts Major, Samantha made the switch to a Business Administration Major with the idea that it might better progress her own business ventures in the future.
Dell’s Childrens Hospital
Dell’s Childrens has been a consistent form of inspiration for the artist. Working alongside her supervisor, Samantha has been allowed the creative freedom to create engaging spaces with chalkboard art and window art. She has also worked on creating a more lively and engaging space in the cafeteria and Holy Roast by designing set-ups and decorating the cafe for Holidays big and small!
Starbucks
Starbucks was one of the first places of employment that allowed Samantha to flex her creative muscles, creating artistic boards for advertising of new drinks and participating in beverage creation herself!
Good Dog Disc Golf LLC.
Good Dog Disc Golf LLC is a startup company that specializes in a variety of products made to assist the disc golfer in their sports needs. Samantha has had the wonderful privilege of working alongside this company as their Media Designer and continues to create, edit and design for many talented artists (herself included).
Tools of the Trade
Adobe Photoshop
Trained and self-taught, I have worked with photoshop over its multitude of changes and can adapt to new techniques and old techniques. I have used the program from everything to editing, design and even digital art.
PaintTool SAI
By far the program I am most familiar and comfortable with. I have been using PaintTool SAI for roughly ten years now and cannot recommend a better program for digital painting.
Fine Arts
Both classically trained and self-taught, I have worked with fine art mediums such as paint, charcoal, ink, lead, pastels, colored pencils, watercolor and more.
Accomplishments
‘Joy and Happiness’ Brought to Dell Children’s Cafeteria
Featured in the article to the left is Samantha Fox and her coworker Kim Taylor. Together Ms. Fox and Ms. Taylor created a Valentine’s Display at Dell Children’s Hospital that was recognized by staff, doctors, nurses, and students. They were featured on the front page of Ascension.com. This is a photograph of the article (as it is no longer available on the web url).
Recognition by DCTV’s “Spill the Tea” Show
As seen on the right, Samantha Fox was featured on Dell Children’s DCTV’s “Spill the Tea”, spilling her tea about being an artist and a barista and what that entails. The program was children-friendly and watchers were able to call in and ask questions about her arts and craft!
Recognition by Staff
For the month of February, Samantha Fox was named Employee of the Month out of 80+ candidates for her artistic talents and willingness to assist where needed—an act she continues to this very day.
